MINT is pleased to present Fruit of the Spirit, an exhibition of works from Leap Year artist Hasani Sahlehe, opening February 2nd and on view through March 2nd at MINT’s Downtown gallery, 92 Peachtree Street SW. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on February 2nd from 7pm–10pm.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Super Bowl preparations, certain streets in South Downtown may be detoured. We always recommend using public transit (we're one block from Five Points MARTA) or using rideshare options. We do not anticipate any full road closures at this time.

Of the exhibit, Hasani Sahlehe comments: “Individuals are faced with a number of alternatives when cultures intersect. Some attempt to assimilate, while others reject outside attitudes or behaviors. Historically, attempts have been made to indoctrinate people groups with pre-existing philosophies. What takes place is an abstraction. New customs emerge, often making reference to the social institutions from which they were formed.”

Hasani Sahlehe (b. 1991 St. Thomas, USVI) works in a variety of media and has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout the Southeast. Significant exhibitions include, “Banana Republic” at SCAD Museum of Art and “What a Kallaloo” at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. His work has been covered in Atlanta’s City Lights, Atlanta Magazine and other publications. Sahlehe lives and works in Atlanta. Sahlehe received his Painting BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015.
